how would you tell whoe exactly it was though? As in: You'd know the same color would be coloring it each time, but you can't tell which player is actually doing it.

well, if you read his suggestion again, he says that a specific color would be assigned to each teammate depending on position...

He means, each Team Mate has it's own colour, and when they do a drawing/line or whatever on the minimap, instead of the line being white, it comes out as there titled colour.
Example, say your journeying to Elona's Reach and you have:
Mr A = Blue Dot
Mr B = Pink Dot
Mr C = Silver Dot
Mr D = Green Dot
Mr E = Gold Dot
Mr F = Bronze Dot
And on the way there, you see some genitals been drawn all over the map in the colour Pink, so you know it's Mr B.

ah, I see.
I personally don't think this needs to be implimented; usually you know who's abusing the map and even if you DID know who was doing it there'd be nothing you could do about it.
Now, if this was coupled with an IGNORE DRAW option I'd be all for it. THAT would be immensly useful.

Yeah, that was another idea I had a while ago. These "kids" are just really getting to me, and I dont think its alright that they can harrass people anonamously.

It would be pretty easy to implement. Just give each position in a group a color. 1-White, 2-Blue, 3-Purple etc.
What do you all think?

I propose an even simpler system:
Only allow the group leader have "write" access to the minimap.

along these lines, should something like this be implemented, there should be a system for the players to choose a leader by voting, or allow the party creator to give leadership responsibilities to someone else if he wishes (in the mission).

This has already been suggested by several people, one of which was me.
Improvements to Compass/Radar
I even have a neat little photoshopped picture in one of my posts in the thread.
Sorry, good idea, been mentioned before...Use the search bar! Like mods have said before, it is starting to get lonely...

I hear what your saying, however, this is not the same idea. This idea addresses abuse from players because they are anonymous. The thread you cited was regarding losing members of a party. I think these are two entirely different ideas.

For the most part, yes. But occasionally you'll need some emergency radar drawing. Such as when you're doing an infusion run and some Mursaat are approaching, any member can immediately scribble a mass of lines telling the players not to cross, etc.

The ideas are very similar in concept and origin. Both involve a color system to identify and reduce griefers and/or those that simply have no clue. Sorry you couldn't see that, Aaaaagh.

Yes, there is no need to limit the team drawing to the leader.
I am a team builder in my guild a lot. They go AFK for a drink break, and I sit and get a group to fillin. But, I do not want to be the only one that has access to the map.
I can designate authority just fine.
To the different colors I agree, and would add that on the party window they party members be outlined in their color.
I do see potential for contrast with the map issues. That could be bad.

I love this idea - colored dots/drawings for party members, and no more confusion.
I'd also love to see colored dots on the BIG map (right now, you can see a trailing red dot from where you've walked), so when I die, I could still have an idea where the other characters are running about, map-wise.

I really dont understand your problem Spartan2. This is the second time you have pulled the 'holier than thou' card.
One idea proposes pretty colored dots to see where your party members are, the other proposes pretty colored lines to see who is drawing what on the map. Ok, they both involve the compass/map, and color. Other than that, there is no similarity what-so-ever.
If you cannot see the blatant difference here--(this space reserved for the flame I wont write).
Oh, and for the record I do like the idea of colored dots for party members as well.
